Yorkshire’s Best Caravan Parks

Caravans are great fun!

You can stay in some fantastic places if you’re happy to be in the middle of nowhere in a caravan – and where better to get lost than in Yorkshire? These are five caravan parks we’ve been checking out, and may be of use to you.

Knight Stainforth Hall

A family-run business for over 80 years, the Maudsley’s at Little Stainforth have welcome caravans and tents to their location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Two miles north of Settle and bracing the banks of the River Ribble, the site has a hundred pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents throughout the open season (March – October).

It also offers sixty fully-serviced holiday homes for sale which can be used between March and January , and have wireless internet available.

Yorkshire Hussar Inn

Half way between Ripon and Harrogate, this family caravan park is open from April to October and is situated perfectly behind the Olde World Country Inn in Markington. There are 75 static caravans on the site as well as spaces for touring caravans, tents and motorhomes. Luxury caravans are rented on a weekly basis and there are others for sale, including a residential park for year-round living.

Bowland Fell Park

On the edge of the Forest of Bowland, with the Yorkshire Dales nearby, Bowland Fell Park is one of the most expertly laid out caravan parks we’ve seen. They offer holiday rentals in the form of luxury caravans or converted barns, as well as new and pre-owned holiday homes with 11 months of use. They also have a number of empty pitches, allowing you to buy a caravan separately and set up there, and the residential homes are perfect for retirees looking to downsize.

Bronte Caravan Park

In the heart of Bronte Country in Worth Valley, this caravan park is clearly something a bit special. It offers both static holiday homes and seasonal touring pitches on a park with Fallow Deer and a large beautiful lake.  You can even see the Worth Valley Railway nearby, on which you might see some steam trains!

Brown Bank Caravan Park

Situated on the Addingham moor and surrounded by farm land, this caravan park is right in the middle of so much beauty. Their season is limited to seven months, and they don’t have a residential permit, but with 120 pitches for static caravan owners plus ten touring pitches and ten tent pitches, they have a lot of flexibility.

So where will you go?  Are you after a residential or holiday home? Let us know in the comments!
